Vegetable Plants

Enjoy the benefits of vegetable gardening as a source of both good wholesome food and personal satisfaction. Food picked fresh from the garden tastes better and has more vitamins than food purchased from the grocery store.  Speaking of the grocery store, you  can grow unusual varieties they just don’t sell in the supermarkets. When you grow your own, you can control the chemicals in and on your food. According to the National Gardening Association, an investment of $70.00 in the garden will return an average of $600.00 in fresh, tasty produce.

You do not need a huge garden to grow vegetables. Many newer varieties can be grown in containers or in an Earth Box on a patio or deck as long as there is enough sunlight. Most vegetables require at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight a day and at least an inch of water a week.

Because we grow most of what we sell, this is where Sabellico’s is very different from other garden centers. We can offer a great selection to our customers. We are plant geeks and we are always on the look out for interesting varieties. Sabellico’s offers the home gardener over 50 different varieties of tomatoes (over 20 different Heirloom tomatoes alone), 20 different hot peppers and 20 different sweet or bell peppers not to mention eggplant, broccoli, cabbage, celeriac, asparagus, Italian dandelion, arugula, beans and kohlrabi to name a few.

All of our veggie plants are sown and grown right here in our greenhouses so we can offer superior plants to our customers. If you want to sow your own, Sabellico’s has everything that you need to start your own seeds. Get your kids involved. Kids love to grow things. They might just eat some of those veggies they grow themselves.
