ABOUT SABELLICO GREENHOUSES & FLORIST

Sabellico Greenhouses & Florist, Inc. has been "growing" since 1950, when Ray Sabellico Sr. built a homemade greenhouse heated by a coal stove to start vegetable plants for his own garden. Having some extras, he decided to sell them out in front of his home at a roadside stand manned by his three sons.

By word of mouth, people started coming and wanting to place orders for the next growing season the following year. Within a short time, he would start growing cut flowers as well as vegetables and annuals. In the mid fifties, the first commercial greenhouse was erected on the property. Actually, it was rebuilt because it was a used greenhouse that had been carefully dismantled in a neighboring town and reconstructed on our grounds. After attending design school in New York City, Shirley Sabellico,opened a full service florist shop in 1964 - East Fishkill's first.

Today, we are proud to have over two acres of greenhouse on 10 acres of land. We grow and sell vegetables, flowers, herbs, perennials, tropicals, select nursery stock and house plants. We also grow seasonal potted plants such as poinsettias and Easter lilies. We carry a full line of home, lawn and garden supplies.

Our full service florist shop offers fresh, silk and dried flowers and arrangements. We help to plan weddings, create balloon bouquets and design gift and fruit baskets for any occasion. We deliver daily to all Southern Dutchess homes, businesses, hospitals and funeral homes.

Since 1950, we have always endeavored to grow and sell the finest products and make them affordable to the entire community. We believe these goals, coupled with offering friendly, helpful service and information is what ensures long-lasting relationships with our customers.
